Tring is popular market town in a rural location very close to the Chiltern Hills, overlooking the beautiful Hertfordshire landscape.
Tring is famous for its Zoological Museum which is part of the Natural History Museum.  It houses many species of birds that have become extinct.

There are plenty of beautiful villages around Tring with Country Village pubs for lunches and dinner.

Tring also has plenty of good restaurants and pubs. It also has its own Court Theatre.

There is easy access to Watford and Aylesbury where there are leisure centres.

The Champneys Health Resort is in the close village of Wigginton. Champneys was the first health farm to be established in the UK and is located in an elegant and extensive mansion, surrounded by acres of picturesque parkland, and built by the influential Rothschild family who settled in the area during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The exclusive indulgence and relaxation offered by Champneys is a wonderful facility for any visitor residing in the village to have on their doorstep.

London is only 40 minute train ride away, with a wealth of attractions for the visitor. More locally both Ascott House and Waddesdon Manor are 10 minutes and 30 minutes away respectively. Both are owned by the Rothschild family and are stunning properties - Waddesdon has the appearance of a French chateau and is filled with beautiful furniture. Ascott House was described as a 'A palace like cottage, the most luxurious and lovely thing I ever saw'. This was how Gladstone's daughter, Mary, described Ascott after a visit in the 1880s.

If you prefer more Medieval History, Warwick Castle or Hampton Court are both accessible (but in opposite directions!) and both offer medieval entertainment at certain times of the year.

Surrounding area

Located in the south-east of England, Hertfordshire is a county that has it all. From vibrant towns and picturesque villages to rolling countryside and thriving shopping centres. Central London is a 20 minute train journey away and London Luton and Stansted airport are both located just a few miles outside of the county.
Hertfordshire is a very Green county with almost half of it being designated as Green belt land by the Government, the varied landscape is made up by scenic woodland, farmland and pretty river valleys, making this an ideal destination for walkers and nature observers. The Chiltern Hills located to the west of Hertfordshire have been designated as an Area of Outstanding Beauty.

For those wanting an more energetic holiday, a day out to one of the many towns and villages is a must. Watford is the largest town in Hertfordshire and is great for shopping and eating out. St. Albans, Hitchen and Hertford are also worth a visit.

Hertfordshire has a range of tourist attractions to visit and activities to get involved with that range from museums, stately homes and historic houses, to many modern recreation and leisure facilities.

The Chiltern Hills are situated close to the heart of England. It is an area of natural beauty with a wealth of places to visit. The property is up to an hour away from most areas of interest - whether it is Warwick Castle, The Tower of London, National Trust properties, Zoos or Theme Parks.

Weather tends to be mild, there are plenty of activities outside if the weather is good, and plenty of inside activities if wet.
